Tie Buddies Giveaway-Closed!

When I first heard about Tie Buddies I thought the idea was ingenious and couldn't wait to try them out. Then I started thinking about it and realized that my daughter didn't have a single pair of tie-shoes. Unfortunately, with the convenience of velcro and slip on, the art of tying shoes has become lost on my daughter. But learning to tie is an important part in the developmental process and certainly a skill we use throughout life. So my daughter got her first pair of lace-up shoes. And after one time trying the Tie Buddies (okay, actually two times, but truly the first time was me trying to figure out how to do it!) she was able to tie her shoes. She was so excited with herself and the ability to do it all by herself, it was a great confidence booster. And now I have a whole new selection of shoes to choose from because she can lace her own shoes.

Tie Buddies was created by a mother of two, Wendy Welling, who spent months fiddling with prototypes and ideas until finally perfecting Tie Buddies™. The key was to create cool characters and interactive stories that help the child learn and retain the process and as well as eliminating the frustrating ‘bunny ears or loops’ that just confuse children as they learn. Currently, they have one girl and one boy style available, but are looking at expanding with a new color or character, so...

I'm excited to tell you that one lucky reader will win a set of Tie Buddies (girl or boy). To enter, visit Tie Buddies , look at their current product and come back and tell me what color you would like to see them add to their product line.

  38. My son is in first grade and we're still struggling thanks to, like you said-velcro and so on, soooo I would like to see something that's a little less toddler related for boys. Race cars are ok but maybe just plain colors or a generic design. He would think skulls and crossbones would be "awesome". Thanks! sc9986@yahoo.com
